Did you hear about Sissy Su's?

I am so excited about my upcoming jump into a business!  I found after having a girl that bows can be so expensive.  I also realized just how much retailers up their prices after buying spools of ribbon for tons less than a bow cost... and I can make 4-5 bows from one spool!  So I started making some just for Sullivan and then my sister wanted some for my niece.  

My next task was to get creative and make some really unique and novelty ones.  I was approached for the possibility of selling them which I had never given much thought to.  I decided why not!?  So I started making tons of sample bows along with precious bow holders and headbands.  My sister and mom asked me to make some for my niece's Fall festival at her school, Chelsea Park Elementary.  My mom made two big bow trees for the silent auction.  

A few months later, I got an e-mail inquiring if I would be interested in making samples of bows for the Chelsea Youth Cheerleaders.  I was so excited!  I jumped at the chance and made 40 ponytail streamers for the Basketball cheerleaders.  

Now, my next big jump is tackling a booth at Cottontails Village at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Complex in March.  I am so excited and so nervous about being ready in time.  I got confirmation of my acceptance for the festival so it is now quickly approaching.  I started making bows back in the late fall to prepare for this.  I see many late nights in my future!  My mom is graciously helping out with the painting of letters for bow holders and making the adorable feather wreaths she is so good at to sell also.

As soon as I can catch up or when Cottontails is over, the big website will be launched for everyone to buy from!  I am also going to send packets out to all cheer groups and businesses in the hopes of partnering up with some of them as well!

So long ago... So sorry!

It is evident that I have been terrible keeping our blog up lately.  I am going to try and do much better with this new year.  So much has been going on with the Harper clan!  Busy times with busy kids.  Camden and Sullivan are growing more and more with each new day and I find myself amazed at them both.  It is hard to believe our little baby turns one this upcoming week.  And Camden will be 3 in 2 months.  Where has the time gone?!?  

We have so many fun and exciting things yet to come and I promise to share them with all who would like to hear about them!  I hope this upcoming week finds you all well and wish you much fun and excitement to come!

The first week of school

Well, the kids and I started school last Wednesday.  My class is super sweet but a touch more rowdy than the past years!  LOL!  We will be working on that.  Camden loves Ms. Becky and had a great week.  He made me a special apple craft that he painted and it of course will get framed to add to all his beautiful art work already hanging!  Thankfully, Sullivan did wonderful also.  I was a little concerned about her since she is a touch needy and always wants Mommy or Daddy but she did excellent with Ms. Sawsan and Ms. Jenny!  So glad things are going well. 

But of course, they are both sick now.  I hate when my babies are sick and there is really not much you can do.  They both have super runny noses, congestion, little coughs and Camden has had a touch of a tummy ache.  So no school for them and Daddy is staying home to take them to the doctor tomorrow.  Hopefully, all is okay but we just want to be safe!

We did go to Auburn again this weekend for the game and had a great time other than constantly wiping noses for 3 days!  The kids had fun tailgating and shopping the streets of Auburn with Mommy.  We had some sleep issues though as I am thinking my kids really miss their own beds when we are not home.  We, of course, are on the countdown until Friday again when we go back to Auburn.  We are taking Camden to the game this weekend and sitting in our family's club level seats.  Sullivan is going to hang out with Meme at the Conference Center though.

Oh on a random side note, Sullivan has her first little curl.  Sometimes it is there and sometimes it is flat and disappears but today, it was noticeable so I tried to take a picture.  I am so hoping she gets my natural curls.  I can already tell she is going to have our natural dark hair so here is hoping for some curl action also!

Almost time for school!

We finally start school next week.  I am so ready to be back in my routine.  Tomorrow is orientation and meet the teacher for Camden and Sullivan.  I am so excited that Camden got Ms. Becky!  She is an awesome teacher and he will do amazing with her.  I love both of Sullivan's also - so sweet and they will love on her unconditionally!  I have got Camden walking around the house constantly telling us he wants Ms. Becky!  It is so funny.  I am just hoping Sullivan will do okay in school.  I am also hoping she picks up on some good habits from her other little baby friends!  LOL!  

Thursday, I get to meet my class and I am so ready!  Then we finally start next Wednesday.  Gotta pick out precious back to school outfits for the first day.  Of course, the kids have to be the best dressed! LOL!  

Sullivan is finally starting to sit up.  I swear she has been purposely not doing it until now because she does it so well.  Now on to crawling.  She has the army crawl down pat but I need her on all fours.  I have a feeling it will not be long once she starts to school.

Summer Lovin' with the kids!

We have had such a fun filled summer!  We went with my family to Destin for 2 weeks and it was so much fun watching Camden enjoy the sand and ocean finally and Sullivan just went with the flow!  I had so much fun watching Camden build sandcastles and play in the waves with his cousins.  

Chris and I took the kids to Auburn for Fan Day also.  It was pretty hot that day but they looked so precious in their football and cheerleader uniforms!    Camden learned to say War Eagle, Hey and even adds the hand swirl in the air for a fun cheer!  Needless to say, we are all ready for kick-off on September 5.

Besides fun in the sun, we play with Thomas the Train every hour of every day!   Enjoy the pictures!!

Welcome to the new blog!

Well, as much as I have put it off, I finally decided to start a new blog for both kids.  I always had one for Camden and so did Chris but I felt one would be easier for both kids.  So, welcome to the new Harper Hangout!  

Everyone is asleep right as I should be but here I am writing about my two precious bugs!  Where would I be without them?!  They are the most amazing kids and I am so truly blessed to have them and even more blessed to be married to their amazing father!  

Tomorrow is our last normal type day.  I go to work Tuesday for our teacher orientation day and found out my class list and I am excited and ready.  Then next week begins working all week and then school the next!  Should be very interesting getting the kids back on the school schedule!  Poor things are gonna have to wake up at 6:30 and have been sleeping to 8:00 these days.  Oh well!    

I will call it night for now but look forward to sharing our many entertaining and interesting days with all of you!
